Solved: Network Bridge Mode Not Working Windows 10 Host - VMware Technology Network VMTN - Question Info

To reset the winsock protocol in the Windows virtual machine: 1. Open a command prompt with elevated privileges. For more information see Microsoft article Command Prompt: frequently asked questions 2.

Run this command: netsh winsock reset The command prompt indicates to restart the machine after the command completes. Restart the virtual machine. For more information see Microsoft article Command Prompt: frequently asked questions 5. Run this command: netsh int ip reset resetlog. Close the command prompt. Same solution as above. Kaspersky was creating the problem.

Uninstall both vm and kaspersky. Then install vm and restart. After that install Kaspersky once again. That should resolve the issue. Starx Arijit Arijit 1. Sign up or log in Sign up using Google. This solved. Works on vmplayer I have 9 adapters listed there but Hyper-V was indeed the only one that needed to be unchecked. Pedro Leite Pedro Leite 31 1 1 bronze badge. I can confirm that I've had to do this exact thing a few times - it's almost like VMWare loses the connection to the virtual NIC on the host, and creating a new NIC on the guest reestablishes it. This actually worked — smac Ramzy Ramzy 11 1 1 bronze badge.

Cliff Cliff 1. I have absolutely no idea why this worked. Josh Porter Josh Porter 11 1 1 bronze badge. You make it sound like you pressed random keys and they happened to spell "nmcli networking on", and magically, it worked. Surely, you had some reason to try that command.

I entered a fugue state and woke naked in a field with my laptop's VM connection fixed and the command "nmcli networking on" written in twigs next to me. Dave M Shrinivas Dhage Shrinivas Dhage 1. Are you certain this is not a duplicate answer? Others mention the bridge mode on the adapter too so just curious if the end result of uninstall and reinstalling has the same outcome as messing with the bridge mode as other answers indicate. Even if uninstall and reinstall it is not mentioned, I just wonder if it's still basically just enabling or disabling or changing the mode, etc.

Think about it and tag me back with your thought or edit accordingly if needed. I'm not sure, just mentioning the thought. Aryan Gholizadeh Aryan Gholizadeh 1. Sign up or log in Sign up using Google. Sign up using Facebook. Sign up using Email and Password. Post as a guest Name.
